My delightful mother turned 82 on August 2. This is a lady who drinks in life and is always going. Being the consummate card writer and sender that she is, she was quick to remind me that she had completely run out of cards and could sure use some more for her birthday.
So the evening before taking her to lunch on her special day, I retreated to my stamp studio, hoping for some last minute inspiration. I found an extra box from the Christmas Keepsake Box recruit promotion that we did nearly two years ago and decided to use the box itself for a box of cards for Mom.
As I continued to look through all of my stuff, I was inspired by new stamp sets, retired Designer Series Paper—even pieces from some of my Paper Pumpkin kits. Then I quickly put together a box of eight cards that Mom could use to send to friends.
Because I had procrastinated, I tried to keep things simple (my signature style) and was pleased with the end result. And Mom? She loved the gift and even has it out on display to show friends who stop by!
What projects have you created lately using a combination of old and new products?
