Window Sheet Fun

I have wanted to experiment with Window Sheets for awhile; for instance, I thought it might be fun to make a clear “purse” gift enclosure using the Big Shot and the Petite Purse Bigz L Die. I used Sticky Strip to put the purse together, but since the Window Sheets are heavy, I made a Designer Series Paper belly band to make sure the purse will stay closed. I adhered a Vintage Faceted Designer Button to the front of the purse using Glue Dots. (The gold thread tied to the button was pulled from a piece of Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine.)

If you’re wondering about the tags—they were so fun to make . . . and easy! I mixed a little Mod Podge with Strawberry Slush ink, painted it on a Window Sheet, and let it dry. Then I stamped “Hi” (from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set) on the painted Window Sheet in Jet Black StāzOn Ink. Finally, I punched out the sentiment using the Full Heart Punch.

I did a lot of experimenting with different colors. As you can see, the Mod Podge and ink mixture looks opaque before it dries.

For my final project, I made a gift enclosure using a 7-1/4" x 5" Window Sheet piece. I folded it to make a loose pouch and punched a hole in the top using a 1/2" Circle Punch. I tied it closed using Gold Sequin Trim and Strawberry Slush 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim. The tag was made using the same method described above.

I, too, made a window sheet purse party favor but added texture to mine with the Houndstooth folder. These are lots of fun!

I think it would be cool to try using window sheets with the above coloring method to make circle garlands. Could be fun!
