Short-Term Disability
Eligible for benefits
First of the month following hire date. You must work one full day during the month of your eligibility before STD benefits go into effect.
Coverage pays
Equal to 60% of covered weekly earnings.
Maximum benefit
$1,500 per week
Waiting period
7 days

Up to 12 weeks

Long-Term Disability
Eligible for benefits
First of the month following hire date.

Equal to 60% of covered weekly earnings.
Maximum benefit
$6,000 per month (in most cases)
Waiting period
90 days (LTD begins after STD has been exhausted)
Benefits Payable
The benefit is payable up to your normal retirement age under the Social Security Act. However, if you become disabled at or after age 65, benefits are payable according to an age-based schedule.
Additional information
Partial disability included. Disabilities that begin within the first 12 months after your effective date will not be covered if you have received treatment for the disability within the 3 months prior to your effective date.
